How to Build a Power Generator to Run Your House?
Do you want to know how to build a power generator to run your house? You can now run your home with homemade energy systems powered by solar and wind energy. This is exactly what I’ve already done so in my house. This type of free energy generation system has helped me save a lot of money on electric bills (sometimes up to 80%), and I don’t have to rely on the power company to supply power to my home any more.
1. Why Build A Power Generator To Run Your Home?
Building a power system at your own home will let you become energy-independent. In fact you may be able to produce so much energy to take your entire home off the grid. This can be possible if you build a battery bank along with your wind and power generators to store the excess energy created. When you generate more energy than your home requires, you can even sell back the power to the grid and collect money from your utility company.
2. How To Build A Power Generator?
This is often a very important piece of this specific subject. I personally download a guide from the internet that contains step-by-step instructions for building this homemade power generator. Some of the parts like the batteries can be found for free at companies that use deep cycle batteries like in the forklift repair shop. My own solar and wind power system didn’t cost me more than 180 dollars to make. Free solar panels can actually be found at the public roads department. They usually use solar-powered signs on the sides of the road, and these signs will be replaced when there are other problems with them.

How to wire a generator to back feed through the dryer plug? I’ve a question… I’ve a generator rated at 8500 W continuous with a 12000 surge. It has a four prong female outlet on the panel which is fifty Amps. I would imagine that it has more than enough power to run my house, or most of it, without a problem. How can I make a cable to hook it up to the dryer outlet in case of emergency? I know its called back-feeding and youre not supposed to do it but in a pinch I know itll work. I also know that I would need to shut off all breakers before making any connections or starting the generator. And, leave the main off for the entire time the generator is running. Any advice / info would be great. PS: I'm more of a see it kinda' guy so a diagram would be awesome

That generator only puts out thirty-five amps continuous at 240 vac with a maximum of 17.5 amps on either one of the 2 120vac lines. You can't draw thirty amps on one of the 120 vac lines and five amps off the other – it just doesn't work that way It could happen depending upon what 120 vac lights and appliances you’re running and you might damage your generator. Just because it has a fifty amp outlet doesn’t mean your generator is capable of putting out fifty amps. Your electric dryer will use 4,000 watts, as will your water heater. Your central air will use about 5,000 watts. Start up power for the AC will be closer to 15,000 watts for about two seconds – beyond the capability of your generator. Your electric stove will use about 5,000 watts. So any 2 of these appliances running at the same time will probably damage your generator. Of course you may not be using or have all of these appliances, but you need to consider what you do have. Add to that lights and other smaller appliances (coffee pot, computer, microwave, etc) and you'll probably find you'll have to have a very tight control on appliance usage. I would also be concerned with the wire gauge that supplies your dryer being large enough to supply power to the rest of the house. Possible fire hazard here. Definitely a code violation that could get you into serious trouble. The power company can turn off your power until you get the proper setup of for standby power. Your generator MUST be outside or you'll run the risk of CO poisoning – even if located inside the garage. Get a larger generator and a transfer switch to be safe and up to code. I’ll almost guarantee that someone will absentmindedly turn on the main breaker before physically disconnecting the generator from your dryer outlet. Power coming into the generator (even though the generator isn't running) will destroy the generator and if you’re lucky, might not burn down your home. I hope I helped you to see that it’sn't simply just plugging in your generator to a 240 vac outlet in your house. There's much more to consider.
Is there a human electric generator? I know there are some generators but people say they can only power a light bulb and not anything like a computer or tv. So i was wondering if somehow all the power generated could be stored, like solar power, to be used for something substantial after hours of powering it? Hopefully one day there will be gyms with lots of bikes that you could just cycle and earn a little money from generating electric.
Electric Generator Back-Feeding? Looking for a safe and cheap way to supply power to my home during outages. My neighbor has a 220 line out in his detached garage…..he told me that when he needs to hook his generator up to power his house that he first shuts the MAIN breaker off in his service panel…..he then goes out to his garage and plugs the generator into the 220 service plug into his garage and then he starts the generator and it actually back feeds power into his service panel in his house, supplying power to his entire home. He told me depending on the size of your generator, he told me I could color code the breakers in service panel so that during a storm outage that I'm supplying power to only what I need based on the color coding and to shut the other breakers off that I don't need. Also told me to never run the A/C from the generator power and in regards to generator size that he has a 10,000 watt…..but he told me a 6,500 to 7,000 watt unit would be more than enough for me to run my furnance, refrigerator and some lights and tv, etc. Can someone advise me on the safety of hooking up like this and not using a transfer switch, etc. Thanks
